John Short

I Ffffound British photographer John Short not long ago and discovered that as well as a collection of vivid commercial still life images he also has a great collection of landscape photographs.

His landscapes seem to be either dark or desolate but they convey some of the character of the places they were taken in- even if  they only show the by-products of the people that live there or the terrain they inhabit.  It’s an interesting perspective and it demonstrates a great deal of restraint and maybe a little more honesty to travel the world and not just bring back pictures of the exotic and unusual but also images of the spaces inbetween.
