East Gippsland
These images were just sitting on my hard drive from a trip months ago to the old-growth forests around Goongerah in far east Gippsland and I remember being really dissapointed with the shots that I took. When you’re there it’soverwhelming and spectacular but, when you stare at it through a lens, you just see a wall of leaves so you look for places where the light is pulling something out of the background or where the trees frame up something discernable but it never really carries across. Now that it’s been a little while and the actual experience of being there is banked in the long term memory the photos look fine to me.
But I know they don’t do it justice. It’s a little bit sad that those moments are so few and far between that I’ll settle for the pictures I took.
