Peace of Wall

Tomorrow is the last day of the Peace of Wall exhibition being held at Until Never gallery in Melbourne.
Peace of Wall /

The exhibition has been organised by photographer Chris Parkinson who has spent four years living and working in Timor Leste.  Not long ago I attended the launch of ‘Peace of Wall’ – a book on the street art of Timor Leste in the years following the independance referendum.

The book is an amazing record of the times and the exhibition has brought three Timorese artists down to Melbourne to produce their own work for the gallery and for everyone to see on the walls of Hosier Lane.

Chris and one of the artists – Alfeo Sanchez Pereira- were interviewed on ABC radio a couple of weeks ago and it’s still available here.  there’s an in-depth interview with Chris about the book on Invurt.
